Battle Reports

Just played our second club game of Hail Cesaer.
17 units of Nervii led by "Hrodland Adalwin Nervii" against 10 units of Early Imperial Romans under "Primus Pilus Sextus Laelius Severus" with "Pilus Prior Vatinia Messalina" second in command.

The scenario was a frontier outpost under attack by a command of Warbands and the defenders sent for help at the nearest fort.

Help soon arrived in the shape of six centuries of Legionaries, two centuries of Auxiliaries, a light cavalry patrol and some Scorpion light artillery.

While marching along the road to relieve the outpost the column was attacked on both flanks by a host of Barbarians. Ten warbands, one of which was fanatics, two units of Light Chariots, two units of warhounds, two small units of Skirmishers and some Light Cavalry.

It soon fell apart for the Celts when the Chariots and Light Horse lost interest in the fight and just sat back. There was one highlight for the horde when the Roman Light Horse patrol tried to charge frontally a unit of Barbarian Light Cavalry three times it's own size. They came, they charged, they ran away.

Still two Roman wedges slowly forced the Celts back until the warbands had enough and thought better to live for another day.

After two battles it's:

Rome 2 - Celts 0

At this rate Sextus will soon find himself promoted or assassinated!
